psychoYou might think that the most difficult thing about training is fitting 3-5 runs a week into your schedule. Incorrect.

The hardest thing? Trying to figure out how to get those runs in while taking as FEW showers as possible…a real trick for any girl who has a thick head of hair, no desire to dry it daily, and a love for sleep.

I hate showering to begin with. What a serious, serious waste of time. I think I’ve hated showering since I was a child. I have vague, ok vivid, memories of my mom telling me that if I didn’t take a bath before I went to bed, she would take away [enter most prized possessions…for example, my Scottie Pippen jersey]. I think she may have pulled out the same trick for making me go to the bathroom before bed, but that’s another story for another time.

The hatred has haunted me into my adult life, and Training Season is a stark reminder of how important it is to plan ahead, only schedule dates the day after a run, and certainly never run two days in a row. Three showers in 2 days is simply not happening.
